About the Author

Alan Wright was an award-winning BBC Radio and TV presenter for over 25 years and, today, has built a national reputation for his work on media training and consultancy with many large UK companies and major public bodies including the UK Fire Service and the National Health Service. He is particularly proud of working on media training with the Bank of England.

Alan also held a key role in cricket in the Nineties when he was Chief Executive of Durham County Cricket Club.

The cricket connection continues with Alan serving as Chairman of Membership & People for Lord’s Taverners, a cricket and entertainment based charity which raises huge sums for disadvantaged young people.

Alan also served as a founder member of the Advisory Committee for England at Ofcom, the broadcasting and telecoms regulator.

Alan has spoken professionally all over the UK and beyond and is particularly keen to see presentation skills used as a major asset for young people going into employment. 

Apart from Antarctica, he has spoken on every continent and speaks on cruise ships around the globe. He has the honour of being a preferred speaker on Viking Cruises, one of the finest in the world.

He is currently very busy with his Kitten Cuthbert book series and is enjoying great cat company.
